Mother's Day 2016

On Mother's Day we went to Pike's Peak in McGregor and hiked the trails. The weather couldn't have been better and it was a great day to be outside.

The buffalo mounds:

The Bride's Veil waterfall was looking a bit... tame:

That's the bridge over the Mississippi from McGregor to Prairie du Chien, WI:

We went across the river to Prairie du Chien, stopped for ice cream, then checked out the Villa Louis historical site:

Paper Boats

This afternoon the girls floated paper boats down the stream and I climbed into the FREEZING. COLD. WATER. ...and took some photos. I followed the boat here downstream until it hit a rock and sunk. The underwater camera enclosure rocks!

Hey, You're Not Irish, Pt 2

This year again we went to John and Roxi's St. Patrick's Day party, though it'll be the last time. It was great to hang out with the people we've gotten to know so well over the past 9.5 years. The whole Herb clan was there as well and it was fun to talk and laugh with them for a bit. We'll miss all of our cool neighbors!
